President Erdoğan outlines 'Terror-Free Turkey' as strategic state vision

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan used the opening of the National Security Conference to describe the “Terror‑Free Turkey” initiative as a strategic state vision for the country’s new century, not merely a security policy. He linked the program to Turkey’s multi‑dimensional security environment, noting that modern conflicts now span cyber, satellite and social‑media domains, and highlighted the need to manage artificial‑intelligence risks as a national security issue.

Erdoğan recalled the post‑15 July coup‑attempt reforms and border operations in Iraq and Syria, saying they dismantled a “glass ceiling” on Turkey’s security paradigm and cemented its role as a regional actor. He argued that fully achieving the Terror‑Free goal will strengthen the internal front, open new economic and diplomatic opportunities, and affirm Turkey’s independence in an increasingly volatile neighbourhood.
