President Erdoğan warns Israel over Gaza attacks after meeting Pakistan's prime minister

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosted Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Şerif in Istanbul, where the two leaders held a joint press conference. Erdoğan condemned what he called Israel's "inhumane" and "law‑breaking" assaults on civilians in Gaza and warned that the war‑prone Israeli government must not be allowed to “re‑infuse the region with the smell of gun‑powder and blood.”

He expressed condolences for the Pakistani victims of a recent bus accident in Belucistan and highlighted Turkey’s readiness to work with Pakistan on a range of issues, including expanding bilateral trade to a $5 billion target, establishing a special economic zone in Karachi, and deepening defence cooperation. The statements were framed as part of broader regional efforts to maintain peace, stability and prosperity.

Erdoğan reiterated Turkey’s commitment to supporting “all peoples of faith” in the region and pledged continued solidarity with Palestine and other brotherly nations.
