President Ilham Aliyev’s Kyrgyzstan Visit Strengthens Azerbaijan‑Kyrgyz Economic Ties

President Ilham Aliyev made a high‑level state visit to Kyrgyzstan, meeting President Sadyr Japarov in the city of Cholpon‑Ata. The leaders highlighted their countries’ shared cultural heritage within the Turkic world and pledged continued cooperation in regional organisations.

During the visit the two heads of state signed a series of bilateral agreements covering energy, transport, cyber‑security, education, financial market regulation and the trade of precious metals. A key outcome was the decision to double the capital of the Azerbaijan‑Kyrgyz Investment Fund to up to US$200 million, with both sides indicating that further increases are possible. The agreements were presented as the foundation for a new phase of economic collaboration, aiming to create joint projects, new jobs and stronger trade flows between the two nations.
