President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir pledges non-partisan service
President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir addressed officials and employees during his first durbar at Bangabhaban, pledging to perform his constitutional duties in a completely non-partisan manner. He noted that he resigned from all political positions, including his party, parliament, and the Cabinet, prior to assuming the presidency to ensure he remains neutral.
The President emphasized that his sole objective is the welfare of the country and its people, stating he will have no personal bias or affection toward any individual. He urged Bangabhaban staff to maintain professionalism, integrity, and strict confidentiality regarding state decisions to safeguard national security.
Additionally, the President called for the responsible and transparent use of public funds, stressing the need to prevent waste and ensure accountability. He also paid respect to the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War and urged staff to maintain discipline and moral strength.
