President Tinubu commissions 194‑km water network for Abuja satellite towns

President Bola Tinubu inaugurated a 194‑kilometre water supply network linking the satellite towns of Karu, Orozo, Jikwoyi, Kurudu and surrounding communities in the Federal Capital Territory. The project, executed by CGC Nigeria Limited, provides treated, potable water directly to homes and businesses via secondary and tertiary pipelines.

Represented at the ceremony by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu declared that the era of neglect for FCT suburbs was over, calling water a fundamental human right and urging residents to protect the infrastructure from vandalism. FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Minister of State Dr Mariya Mahmoud and FCDA Executive Secretary Richard Dauda highlighted the project's benefits for public health, sanitation and socio‑economic development. The administration plans to replicate similar water projects in Bwari and other area councils.
