President Tinubu commissions renovated Premier Hotel in Ibadan, pledges security actions
President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the newly renovated Premier Hotel on Mokola Hill in Ibadan, Oyo State, describing the project as a symbol of heritage preservation and economic renewal. He highlighted the collaboration among the six shareholder states of Odu’a Investment Company Limited and stressed that the hotel’s transformation demonstrates how legacy assets can be modernised to attract investment and create jobs. Tinubu linked the development to his administration’s broader tourism and creative‑industry agenda, noting that improved infrastructure, public‑private partnerships and streamlined business processes are intended to boost GDP, foreign‑exchange earnings and employment for Nigerian youth.
During the same ceremony, Tinubu addressed the recent kidnapping of students and teachers in Orire Local Government, assuring that all measures, including international cooperation, are being taken to secure their release. He reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s security architecture through better intelligence, technological surveillance, community‑based initiatives and support for the armed forces, arguing that stability is essential for sustainable economic growth.
