President William Ruto appoints two to Teachers Service Commission

President William Ruto of Kenya nominated former Kenya National Union of Teachers secretary‑general Wilson Sossion and Antonina Lentoijoni to serve as commissioners on the nine‑member Teachers Service Commission (TSC). The nominations were transmitted to Parliament for vetting and approval as required by the constitution.

The appointments are part of a broader reshuffle of state bodies. Ruto also nominated Flora Mutua to the Public Service Commission, named Dr Duncan Ojwang Oburu as chair of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority, and redeployed Charles Owino to the role of Government Spokesperson. All nominees will undergo parliamentary scrutiny before taking office.
