President William Ruto to tour Elgeyo Marakwet for development projects

President William Ruto is scheduled to conduct a two-day development tour of Elgeyo Marakwet County on October 13 and 15. The tour aims to oversee infrastructure projects, commission new facilities, and issue title deeds to local residents.

During the first leg in Marakwet East, the President is expected to commission the Kipkundul-Kapyego-Kamelei tarmac road, break ground for the Kapyego Economic Stimulus Programme market, and launch a water project. He will also inspect various educational facilities in Marakwet West, including Chebara Boys and Girls Secondary Schools.

The second leg of the tour in Keiyo South will include inspections of affordable housing and Economic Stimulus Programme markets, alongside the issuance of 6,300 title deeds to residents of Rokocho and Kocholwo B. The visit will conclude with inspections in Keiyo North.

Separately, speaking at the Agriculture and Food Systems Transformation Summit in Nairobi, President Ruto emphasized his personal connection to farming. He noted that his administration remains committed to the agricultural and food system promises outlined in the 2022 Kenya Kwanza manifesto.
