Presidente Franco: Brazilian man found dead in abandoned vehicle
A 30-year-old Brazilian national, Matheus Silva Souza Teles, was found dead in an abandoned Jetour vehicle in Presidente Franco, Paraguay. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
According to reports and statements from the victim's wife, the incident occurred following a dispute inside the vehicle in Ciudad del Este. The wife alleged that Lucas Gomes Couto shot Teles before fleeing the scene on foot. Following the shooting, the suspect's partner reportedly took control of the vehicle and drove away with the wounded victim still inside.
Authorities later located the abandoned vehicle on a dirt road near the Monday River. Lucas Gomes Couto was subsequently arrested in the vicinity of a shopping center in Ciudad del Este and has been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry.
