Basın İlan Kurumu opens Sakarya Regional Directorate
The Press Advertising Agency (BİK) has officially opened its Sakarya Regional Directorate, which will serve local media outlets in Sakarya, Kocaeli, Bolu, Düzce, and Zonguldak.
During the opening ceremony, BİK General Manager Abdulkadir Çay reported that the agency provided over 5.258 billion Turkish Liras in official advertisement and announcement support to press organizations during the first eight months of 2026. He noted that the Sakarya Regional Directorate has contributed more than 268 million Liras to periodic publications in its jurisdiction since it began operations. Additionally, a collaboration with the Credit Guarantee Fund has made over 131 million Liras available to media businesses to facilitate financing.
Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran emphasized the vital role of local media in strengthening democracy. He highlighted BİK’s long-standing mission since 1961 to ensure the fair distribution of official advertisements and its ongoing efforts to support the media ecosystem through training programs, employment projects in partnership with İŞKUR, and internship opportunities through cooperation with universities.
