In September 2026, BİK officially opened its Sakarya Regional Directorate, which serves media outlets in Sakarya, Kocaeli, Bolu, Düzce, and Zonguldak. During the opening ceremony, General Manager Abdulkadir Çay updated the support figure to over 5.258 billion TL for the first eight months of the year. He noted that the Sakarya Regional Directorate has contributed more than 268 million Liras to periodical publications within its jurisdiction since commencing operations. Presidential Communications Director Burhanettin Duran also attended, emphasizing the role of local media in democracy and BİK’s mission to ensure fair advertisement distribution.
