Presto enters judicial liquidation in Colombia

The Colombian hamburger chain Presto, operated by Franquicias y Concesiones S. A. S., has entered judicial liquidation following an order from the Superintendencia de Sociedades. The decision follows the company's own request for liquidation after it determined it could no longer sustain operations as a going concern due to declining cash flow and delays in administrative payments.

Presto had previously entered a business reorganization process in July 2023 to manage approximately $31,000 million in liabilities. Although a reorganization agreement was confirmed in April 2026, the company failed to meet subsequent obligations.

To prevent the permanent closure of its restaurants and protect jobs, the designated liquidator, Mónica Macías, is actively seeking a buyer to acquire the company. While establishments are expected to continue operating until further notice, no concrete offers have been confirmed. Since its founding in Bogotá in 1981, Presto has expanded to over 120 restaurants across more than 20 cities in Colombia.
