Presto restaurant chain liquidation and acquisition
Overview
The Colombian hamburger chain Presto, operated by Franquicias y Concesiones S.A.S., entered judicial liquidation following an order from the Superintendencia de Sociedades. The company requested liquidation after determining it could no longer sustain operations due to declining cash flow and administrative payment delays. This followed a failed business reorganization process that had begun in July 2023.
Shortly after the liquidation process began, Grupo Nutresa, controlled by Jaime Gilinski, signed an agreement to acquire the Presto brand and its productive units, including points of sale and production centers. The acquisition, executed through the subsidiary IRCC S.A.S., is intended to keep Presto as an independent brand within Nutresa’s portfolio. The deal is expected to preserve approximately 700 jobs.
