PRI and PAN negotiate political alliance for 2027 elections

Leaders of the PRI and PAN, Alejandro Moreno and Jorge Romero, are working to formalize a political alliance aimed at the 2027 elections. The coalition seeks to strengthen its influence in upcoming gubernatorial races and potentially challenge the Morena party's majority in the Chamber of Deputies.

Strategically, the alliance aims to compete in various states, including potential victories in Querétaro, Aguascalientes, Chihuahua, and Nuevo León. The coalition is reportedly focused on preventing the fragmentation of opposition votes that occurred in previous elections.

In Michoacán, PRI state leader Memo Valencia indicated that a definitive decision regarding the alliance with PAN is expected this week. Valencia noted that the coalition will be a constructive process and emphasized that electoral decisions for the state will be managed at the state level rather than the municipal level.
