Mexican legislative agenda and political developments

Legislative and political activities in Mexico remain centered on the 2027 fiscal year and upcoming elections. The Chamber of Deputies has approved the legislative calendar for the first period of the LXVI Legislature, spanning September through December 2026. Key deadlines include October 20 for the Federal Revenue Law and November 15 for the Federal Expenditure Budget.

Regarding the 2027 Economic Package, Fabiola Alanís has emphasized the necessity of protecting existing social programs, noting that pensions for seniors and student scholarships currently serve 42 million citizens. In Michoacán, state treasurer Luis Navarro reported that nearly 10 billion pesos were allocated to the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo between 2021 and 2026.
