PRI Deputy Mariano Camacho Launches Youth Parliament in Toluca

Deputy Mariano Camacho of Mexico's Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) inaugurated a youth parliament called “Voz Joven que Lidera” in Toluca, State of Mexico. The forum was organized in partnership with the unit Revolucionaria Toluca and opened to university students from the region to present proposals and discuss public‑policy issues.

Camacho praised participants’ enthusiasm, stating that listening to young people is essential for strengthening institutions and shaping policies that address their community’s challenges. Attendees highlighted the need for spaces where their voices can influence decision‑making and debated topics such as public security, rehabilitation centers, prison work, inclusive language and the criminalisation of false paternity.

Student Luis Antonio Pérez said the experience showed that “all young people can have a place and a role in the Chamber of Deputies.” The event aims to foster civic engagement among Mexican youth and feed their ideas into legislative processes.
