PRI proposes security plan and opposes dual nationality rights restriction
The Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) has announced a comprehensive proposal to address Mexico’s security crisis. During the National Seminar on Security, Justice, and Peace for Mexico, party leaders emphasized that peace is achievable through political will and cooperation between federal and state governments. Party Secretary General Carolina Viggiano noted that the involvement of governors is essential to resolving the nation's security challenges.
Separately, the PRI has expressed categorical opposition to a presidential initiative that seeks to cancel the political rights of Mexican citizens with dual nationality. Party President Alejandro Moreno argued that dual nationality does not imply double loyalty and warned that such a move would constitute a significant setback for human rights and democracy. The party's national executive committee stated that its legislators will vote against the initiative, characterizing it as a discriminatory measure against millions of citizens.
