PRI remains most voted party in Coahuila local congress elections

The Electoral Institute of Coahuila (IEC) has announced the definitive vote counts for the June 7, 2026, election to renew the state's local congress. Following rulings from the Coahuila Electoral Tribunal, the PRI (Partido Revolucionario Institucional) remains the most voted political force, securing 648,948 votes out of a total of 1,208,867 validated votes.

Other major parties included Morena with 288,879 votes, Nuevas Ideas with 77,393 votes, and Unidad Democrática de Coahuila (UDC) with 50,543 votes. The IEC also finalized the allocation of proportional representation seats (plurinominal deputies) in accordance with gender parity principles.

Although the Electoral Tribunal annulled at least 11 polling stations due to inconsistencies identified during district counts, the IEC confirmed that these changes did not alter the final winners or the overall distribution of seats under both relative majority and proportional representation principles. The alliance between the PRI and UDC maintained its majority status.
