Christopher Street Day parades held across Germany
Multiple Christopher Street Day (CSD) events took place across various German regions, marking celebrations of queer identity and diversity. In Delmenhorst, approximately 1,500 people participated in a peaceful parade, supported by local officials including Mayor Petra Gerlach.
In Brandenburg, hundreds gathered for CSD events in Bad Belzig, Hennigsdorf, and Jüterbog. While the Bad Belzig event was reported as peaceful, the Hennigsdorf demonstration saw participation from a small right-wing group and an incident involving an intoxicated individual who insulted and attempted to attack police officers.
In Döbeln, the event faced more significant tension. Police reported six offenses during demonstrations where queer activists and left-wing supporters faced counter-protests from right-wing groups, including ‘Die Heimat’. Authorities opened investigations into serious bodily harm following reports of injuries among counter-protesters.
