Priests' ordination anniversaries celebrated in Sora and Acate, Italy

In the Diocese of Sora‑Cassino‑Aquino‑Pontecorvo, Mons. Lucio Marandola marked the 60th anniversary of his priestly ordination on 18 July 2026. The ceremony at the Church of St. Nicholas was presided over by Bishop Gerardo Antonazzo and attended by nine diocesan priests, the mayor of San Pietro Infine, and other local officials, who presented gifts and offered congratulatory remarks.

On the same day in Acate, Sicily, Don Mario Cascone celebrated 45 years of priesthood. He celebrated Mass at the Carmelo church, recalling his ordination on 18 July 1981. The service highlighted his long ministry in Ragusa and Vittoria, his work as a theology teacher, journalist, and author, and he asked the congregation for prayers and forgiveness.

Both events were local religious celebrations honoring the long service of the clergy in their respective Italian communities.
