Prijedor receives over 30 million KM for infrastructure and flood protection

The Government of Republika Srpska has approved over 30 million KM for various infrastructure and development projects in Prijedor. Prime Minister Savo Minić and Mayor Slobodan Javor announced that these funds will support several key initiatives, including flood protection, education, and healthcare.

Significant investments include 196 million KM for the reconstruction of the local hospital, with a public procurement process for the project expected to launch on September 1. Additionally, 15 million KM has been allocated to the Center for Higher Education, and funds are being directed toward the Saničani fishery following the registration of a new enterprise.

In the Tukovi settlement, a new 1,000-meter concrete parapet wall has been completed to protect residents from flooding. Following this, officials plan to deepen the riverbed of the Sana river to enhance flood defenses. Further municipal improvements in Tukovi will include sewage systems, road paving, and street lighting. Other local projects include school funding, the construction of a concert hall, and the ongoing Prijedor–Banjaluka highway.

Mayor Javor noted that the city and the republic-level government are co-financing several projects, such as the Urijani hall and sewage infrastructure in Tukovi, to ensure essential services for citizens.
