Prime Minister Modi calls for leadership in future technologies

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that India must adopt future-oriented technologies, take bold steps in innovation, and lead the world in their development. Speaking at the Science, Technology, and Innovation Conference (ESTIC-2026), he emphasized that India is moving forward with new thinking and confidence in the fields of science and technology.

Addressing the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Prime Minister noted that while AI can increase productivity by automating repetitive tasks, it should be used to enrich rather than limit independent thought. He also warned of emerging cybersecurity threats posed by AI, which could impact financial networks and national security, calling for the development of AI-based security solutions to protect national systems.

Modi highlighted India's scientific heritage, from the discovery of zero to advancements in astronomy, noting that the country aims to develop technology that empowers India while contributing to solving global human problems.
