Prime Video Casts Marina Versos as Marília Mendonça

Prime Video announced that 24‑year‑old Marina Versos will play singer‑songwriter Marília Mendonça in an upcoming biographical film. The production, directed by Dainara Toffoli, will also feature Klara Castanho as Maiara, alongside a supporting cast that includes Marcelo Serrado, Sophia Valverde and others. Filming is set to begin in July, with a planned streaming release in 2027.

The project received direct involvement from Mendonça’s family and aims to chronicle the artist’s rise from her early songwriting years to becoming Brazil’s “Queen of Suffering.”
