Prince George RCMP seek witnesses in hit-and-run involving child
The Prince George RCMP are seeking witnesses following a hit-and-run incident involving a nine-year-old child on August 12, 2026. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Sinclair Road near Sinclair Park while a group of youths was walking along the shoulder of the road.
According to police, a slow-moving vehicle struck the child before fleeing the scene and traveling northbound on Lansdowne Road. The nine-year-old was not seriously harmed. Investigators are specifically looking for any bystanders who may have captured the incident on cell phone video.
The vehicle is described as a white Ford Escape, possibly featuring a 1.5-inch diagonal scratch on the front right passenger side. The driver is described as a Caucasian woman, believed to be in her 60s, with a thin to medium build and long grey hair. At the time of the incident, she was reportedly wearing a white patterned polka-dot shirt and a silver necklace with a butterfly.
