Prince George RCMP to hold emergency response training at local school

The Prince George RCMP, in partnership with School District 57, will conduct an Emergency Response Team training exercise at Duchess Park Secondary School on Thursday, August 13. The training is scheduled to take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the school located on Winnipeg Street.

The exercise is designed to simulate a dynamic active threat situation and will utilize live actors to increase realism. During the training, there will be an increased police presence, including uniformed officers, plainclothes officers, and police vehicles.

Authorities have advised local residents and businesses that they may hear loud bangs, yelling, and screaming during the event. The RCMP has requested that the public avoid approaching the venue or officers to prevent interference with the training. Signs will be posted around the school to notify the community.
