Prishtina hosts fourth Children's Book Festival and Fair

The fourth edition of the Children's Book Festival and Fair has launched in Prishtina, running for five days until September 27, 2026. Held at the Zahir Pajaziti Square Amphitheater, the event features a diverse program of cultural, educational, and artistic activities designed to engage children and families.

Key activities include STEM workshops by Bright Minds, book promotions by ALBAS, and dance sessions by Evolution Dance. The festival also includes interactive sessions such as “A Day with Firefighters” and mascot appearances. The book fair component showcases publications from publishers in Kosovo, Albania, and North Macedonia.

The event is organized by ETEA and the “Hivzi Sylejmani” Library, with support from the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Prishtina. Organizers noted that the festival addresses a critical need to improve reading habits; research by ETEA in 2024 indicated that 53% of Kosovo citizens could not name three books they had read in their lifetime.
