Priyanka Gandhi urges PM Modi to meet students protesting NEET exam handling

On July 20, students demonstrated in Delhi over controversies surrounding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), alleging paper leaks and systemic flaws. The following day, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra denounced the police response as “extremely shameful” and called on the central government to listen to the youths rather than use force.

Gandhi appealed directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking him to meet the demonstrators and address their demands, which include the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. She accused the administration of “anti‑youth, anti‑poor and anti‑farmer” policies and urged comprehensive reforms to make the examination system transparent and accountable.

The protest highlighted broader concerns about the financial and emotional strain on families preparing for competitive exams, with many taking loans for coaching. Gandhi urged the government to take decisive action against senior officials responsible for alleged irregularities, not only low‑level officers.
