Procon-JP survey finds large price gaps in baby hygiene products

A price survey conducted by the Municipal Secretariat for Consumer Protection and Defense of João Pessoa (Procon-JP) has revealed significant price discrepancies for infant hygiene products across nine local pharmacies.

The study, which analyzed 53 items including soaps, towels, wipes, ointments, and diapers, found that Pampers Premium Care XXG (32 units) had a price difference of R$ 81.70, representing a 108.84% variation between Pague Menos and Drogasil.

The highest percentage variation was observed in Bepantriz ointment (30g) at 191.20%, followed by Nistatina + zinc oxide ointment (60g) at 189.29%. Other notable variations included Mustela cream (112.02%), Mustela liquid soap (128.61%), and Johnson’s newborn liquid soap (166.78%).
