ProEtnica festival celebrates 25 years in Sighișoara

The 25th anniversary edition of the ProEtnica festival in Sighișoara successfully concluded despite significant financial challenges. Prior to the event, the festival faced uncertainty due to the loss of a major funding source.

To ensure the anniversary edition could proceed, various ethnic minority organizations contributed financially. The Greek Union in Romania provided the largest delegation with nearly 300 participants and took on a significant portion of the costs.

The festival hosted approximately 12,000 spectators, marking an increase of about 2,000 visitors compared to the previous year. The event included 857 representatives from national minorities and recorded 1,135 overnight stays.
