Profeco identifies lowest basic food basket prices in Puebla

According to a weekly monitoring report by Profeco, the Bodega Aurrera 11 Sur location in Puebla recorded the lowest price in Mexico for the PACIC basic food basket. Between September 7 and 11, 2026, the 24 essential products were priced at 757 pesos, which is 153 pesos below the federal government's maximum limit of 910 pesos.

In contrast, the H-E-B branch in León, Guanajuato, reported the highest national price at 934.90 pesos, exceeding the federal agreement by 24.90 pesos. Other regional findings included low prices at Bodega Aurrera in Iztapalapa (767.50 pesos) and price variations in Morelia, Zapopan, and other urban centers.

In Cuernavaca, the Adolfo López Mateos market showed mixed price movements for basic goods. While meat, poultry, and groceries remained stable, fruit and vegetable prices fluctuated. Notable increases were seen in bell peppers and poblano peppers, both reaching 23 pesos per kilo. Conversely, seasonal fruits like avocado, kiwi, and plum saw price reductions.
