Profeco tests electric toothbrush performance and battery life
The National Consumer Protection Laboratory (Profeco) conducted tests on ten electric toothbrush models from Oral-B and Philips | Colgate to evaluate performance against price. The study, published in the February 2026 Consumer Magazine, assessed factors such as build quality, brush head retention, heating during use, and battery life.
While all tested models received an “Excellent” rating for finishes, bristle resistance, and heat management, battery longevity emerged as the primary differentiator. The Oral-B Pro Clean (3750), priced at approximately 388 pesos, provided 89 brushing cycles per charge. This performance was noted as being highly competitive compared to the Philips | Colgate Sonic Pro 50, which offered the highest autonomy with 123 cycles but at a significantly higher cost of 1,550 pesos.
