Proofpoint expands AI security operations in India and Japan

Cybersecurity firm Proofpoint is expanding its operations in India and Japan to address the rising demand for AI-driven security solutions.

In India, Proofpoint has established an AI Security Engineering Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad. The company plans to hire more than 200 engineers over the next 12 to 24 months to support this new facility. This expansion follows a period where the company’s Indian business tripled in size. In addition to the Hyderabad hub, Proofpoint is opening a new office in Delhi to bolster its market presence, supplementing existing operations in Bengaluru and Pune.

In Japan, Proofpoint has entered into a partnership with AI Security Co., Ltd. The collaboration aims to provide comprehensive services including the proposal, licensing, implementation, and operational support of Proofpoint’s human- and agent-centric security solutions. The partnership focuses on mitigating risks associated with AI usage, such as shadow AI and the protection of sensitive information within AI models.
