Gül Tut death: Indictment accepted for singer's daughter

The Yalova 1st High Criminal Court has accepted the indictment regarding the death of singer Gül Tut, known professionally as ‘Güllü’, who fell from a sixth-floor window in Çınarcık on September 26, 2025.

Prosecutors are seeking aggravated life imprisonment for Tut’s daughter, Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, on charges of ‘premeditated murder of an ascendant’. Additionally, Sultan Nur Ulu, who was present in the room at the time, faces a request for 2 to 4 years in prison for ‘perjury’.

The indictment details that Tut fell approximately 18.17 meters onto a concrete surface, resulting in fatal internal bleeding and multiple fractures. Forensic reports noted a blood alcohol level of 3.53 promil, though investigators stated this was not the cause of death.

A key element of the prosecution's theory involves a ‘musical trap’; it is alleged that Gülter requested a specific song, ‘Malkata’, be played to lure her mother into the room where the incident occurred. The first hearing is scheduled for October 1.
