Prouni: Deadline for waiting list registration ends August 27
Candidates for the University for All Program (Prouni) have until 11:59 PM on Thursday, August 27, to register their interest in the waiting list for the second semester of 2026. This registration is free and must be completed via the Portal Único de Acesso ao Ensino Superior. The waiting list is open to students who were not selected in the two regular calls or those whose applications were rejected due to classes not being formed.
The Ministry of Education (MEC) reported that the regular selection processes this year attracted over 1.1 million candidates, totaling more than 2.1 million applications. For the second semester, 471,304 scholarships are available across 380 undergraduate courses at 879 private higher education institutions. These include 219,725 full scholarships and 251,579 scholarships offering a 50% tuition discount.
The list of candidates who expressed interest will be released on September 1. Following this, candidates will have until September 14 to present the necessary documentation to their chosen institution's Prouni coordination, either in person or electronically, depending on the institution's availability.
