Poland rolls out multiple road works and public transport upgrades in July 2026

From early July 2026 several Polish municipalities began major transport changes. In the Kuyavian‑Pomeranian region, a 1.2‑km stretch of county road 1267C between Wudzyn and Pruszcz will be closed on 7 July, with detours via road 1268C and a local municipal road. Olsztyn will host the Equality March on 4 July, prompting full closures of key central streets—including Aleja Piłsudskiego, Plac Jana Pawła II, and Ulica Kopernika—and temporary bus route changes for dozens of lines.

Rzeszów’s inter‑municipal bus operator PKS will integrate ticketing with the city’s public‑transport system, adding four new stops from July. In Zakopane, two new city‑bus lines (13 and 18) start on 1 July, with a temporary diversion on line 13 due to road works. Żywiec raised all bus fare categories on 1 July following a change of MZK leadership. In Wrocław, a taxi‑tram collision on 29 June blocked Szewska street, forcing tram lines 6 and 7 onto alternate streets until normal service resumed a few hours later. Toruń began a major renovation of Okólna street on 1 July, closing the segment between Strzałowa and Łódzka and routing traffic via detours. Katowice has opened a tender for a 4.6‑km southern tram line, receiving 14 bids valued between €356‑€522 million, with the project still under analysis.
