Przemysław Kral's legal status clarified in Zondacrypto investigation

Minister of Justice Waldemar Żurek has clarified the legal status of Przemysław Kral, the head of Zondacrypto, amid an ongoing investigation. Żurek stated that Kral is neither a crown witness nor a standard witness, but is providing evidence that prosecutors are currently verifying.

This clarification follows reports that Kral may have been seeking status as a ‘small crown witness’ to receive a reduced sentence in exchange for cooperation. The investigation has gained significant political attention after Prime Minister Donald Tusk read selected excerpts of Kral’s testimony during a parliamentary session.

Anna Adamiak, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General, declined to disclose Kral’s specific procedural status, noting it is a decision made by the presiding prosecutor. She defended the credibility of the testimony, stating that both the prosecution and the court have already considered the depositions as evidentiary material in the application of preventive measures.
