PSD proposes new prefect and subprefect candidates in Romania
The Social Democratic Party (PSD) is moving to appoint new administrative leaders in several Romanian counties following the installation of a new government.
In Brașov, the PSD intends to nominate Lucian Mija for the position of prefect, succeeding Mihai Cătălin Văsii, who resigned after seven years in office. Mija, a businessman and former subprefect of Brașov, has a diverse political history, including involvement with the USR initiative group in Făgăraș and a previous candidacy with the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania (FDGR).
In Constanța, the PSD County Political Bureau has nominated Decebal Făgădău, the former mayor of Constanța, for prefect and Lucian Chitic, a former mayor, for subprefect. These proposals have been sent to the party leadership for validation and would see them replace current officials Adrian Picoiu and Dumitru Paris.
