PSdeG-PSOE demands emergency healthcare plan for Valdeorras

The PSdeG-PSOE political group in Galicia has called on the Xunta to implement an emergency plan to restore healthcare services in Valdeorras. The proposal, introduced by deputy Carmen Rodríguez Dacosta, seeks to address the deterioration of medical assistance in the region by reinforcing staff and adapting care to local needs.

Key demands include recovering the clinical capacity of the Valdeorras Public Hospital and ensuring stable staffing for both primary care and hospital services. The group highlighted issues such as unfilled vacancies, high staff turnover, and the lack of coverage for medical leaves. The initiative emphasizes that healthcare planning must account for geographic dispersion, mountainous terrain, and an aging population with chronic illnesses, rather than relying solely on population counts.
