PSOE accuses Canary Islands government of neglecting tourism law victims
The PSOE in La Gomera has accused the Canary Islands government and its coalition partners—including CC, PP, ASG, and AHI—of abandoning citizens affected by tourism legislation. The criticism follows the rejection of a socialist legislative proposal intended to study ways to reconcile tourist and residential uses in areas where property owners are currently facing sanctions for not converting their homes into tourist accommodations.
Specifically, the PSOE of Valle Gran Rey stated that the proposal failed because representatives from the ASG parliamentary group either abstained or were absent from the vote. The party argues that the current government is prioritizing tourist exploitation units over the property rights of residents in areas such as Valle Gran Rey and San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
