PSOE Andalusia designates 48 mayoral candidates for 2027
The PSOE of Andalusia has finalized the designation of 48 mayoral candidates for the 2027 municipal elections. Following a meeting of the Regional Ethics Commission, the party has opted for direct designation in several major cities to avoid internal disputes, aligning with requests from Secretary General María Jesús Montero to minimize primary elections.
In the capital cities of Seville, Granada, Cádiz, and Málaga, no primaries will be held as only one candidate was presented for each. In Seville, Antonio Muñoz Martínez will run without opposition. In Málaga, Mariano Ruiz Araujo has been selected, while Óscar Torres León and Raquel Ruz Peis will lead the lists in Cádiz and Granada, respectively.
However, primary elections will take place in eleven municipalities where multiple candidates have registered. This includes the cities of Almería, Córdoba, Huelva, and Jaén. In Jaén, incumbent Julio Millán will face Carlos Alberca Martínez in a contested primary.
