PSOE demands dedicated funding for Ourense metropolitan transport
The Socialist Party of Galicia (PSdeG) in Ourense has called on the Xunta to provide dedicated funding for metropolitan transport in the 2027 regional budget. Natalia González, the city's PSOE general secretary and mayoral candidate, accompanied by regional deputy Carmen Rodríguez and provincial spokesperson Álvaro Vila, demanded measures to address what they describe as decades of inequality between Ourense and other provinces.
González emphasized the urgency of implementing eight projected transit lines and conducting trial periods to improve service. The party also criticized the local City Council regarding urban transport contracting and urged the Xunta to finance the majority of the service. Additionally, Rodríguez highlighted the need for public employment offers to align with coherent public transport schedules to support workers in neighboring industrial areas.
