Portugal police conduct various operations resulting in multiple arrests
Various law enforcement operations across Portugal have resulted in multiple arrests for diverse crimes. In Peniche, a major operation by the PSP led to the arrest of two men and one woman for drug trafficking. Authorities seized approximately 635 individual doses of cannabis, cocaine, hashish, and MDMA, along with cash, scales, and weapons including a machete and a baseball bat. The suspects were placed in preventive detention.
Other regional incidents include the arrest of three individuals for the theft of items from a church in Reguengos de Monsaraz, and the detention of a 64-year-old man in Lisbon for illegal weapons possession after he fired a shot into the air. In Portalegre, a 63-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence and attempted arson. Additionally, authorities in Viana do Castelo detained individuals for drug trafficking and driving with forged documents, while a 64-year-old woman in Moura was arrested for residential robbery.
In Santarém, a large-scale multidisciplinary operation involving over 90 officers resulted in several traffic violations and the arrest of two individuals for illegal weapons and drug trafficking. In Vila Real, police conducted security operations resulting in arrests for driving under the influence and physical assault.
