PT Kereta Api Indonesia reports growth in fertilizer transport and passenger numbers

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) reported significant growth across several sectors between January and September 2026. The company transported 21,180 tons of fertilizer, a 31.47 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025, to support the national planting season and agricultural supply chains.

Passenger numbers also saw upward trends. Culinary train services, including the Joglosemarkerto, Lodaya, and Ranggajati routes, served 2.11 million customers, marking a 10.46 percent increase from the previous year. Additionally, passenger departures from Sukabumi Station rose by approximately seven percent, reaching 613,678 travelers.

KAI officials noted that these increases reflect rising mobility for work, education, and tourism, as well as the company's role in strengthening regional connectivity and agricultural logistics.
