PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is implementing decarbonization and modernization initiatives. Additionally, KAI Logistik reported a cumulative 14.9 million tons of freight for the year, bolstered by a strong third quarter where coal accounted for 69 percent of volume.

Regarding passenger services, KAI Commuter reported transporting over 400 million passengers in 2025. Recent data from January to September 2026 shows continued upward trends in mobility, with culinary train services such as the Joglosemarkerto, Lodaya, and Ranggajati serving 2.11 million customers, a 10.46 percent increase from 2025. Furthermore, passenger departures from Sukabumi Station rose by approximately seven percent to 613,678 travelers.
