PT Kereta Api Indonesia transported 2.04 million tons of fuel through September 2026

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) transported 2,036,049 tons of fuel oil (BBM) between January and September 2026. This represents a 3.92 percent increase compared to the 1,959,161 tons transported during the same period in 2025.

Through a strategic partnership with Pertamina Group, KAI utilizes tank wagons to distribute products including Pertalite, Pertamax, and Bio Solar across Java and Sumatra. The fuel transport volume averages approximately 7,458 tons per day and accounts for roughly 22.3 percent of KAI’s total non-coal freight.

In alignment with national energy transition policies, KAI began the gradual implementation of Biodiesel B50 for its locomotive fleets and power cars on July 1, 2026.
