PT PLN expands social aid and electrifying agriculture projects in Indonesia
PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Pembangunan Jawa Bagian Tengah (UIP JBT) organised a social‑responsibility event at the Upper Cisokan pumped‑storage project in West Java, distributing cash assistance to orphaned children and visually impaired persons. The ceremony, attended by company managers, local religious figures and community members, included a joint prayer and highlighted the company’s aim to combine power‑infrastructure development with tangible benefits for surrounding residents.
Meanwhile, PT PLN Unit Induk Transmisi Jawa Bagian Timur dan Bali (UIT JBM) launched the “SEDAP BANJAR” (Sembada Pangan Melalui Electrifying Agriculture) programme in Gresik, East Java. The initiative supplied electric tractors, rice‑hulling machines, electric pesticide sprayers and electric water pumps to local farmers, accompanied by training on modern farming techniques, marketing and pest management. PLN officials said the programme is intended to raise agricultural productivity, lower operating costs and support Indonesia’s food‑security goals.
