Indonesia's PLN schedules maintenance and secures power for Bandungan Festival

PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Salatiga announced scheduled maintenance of the distribution network on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, in Ungaran and surrounding areas of Central Java. Work will run from 09:30 to 12:30 WIB and may temporarily suspend electricity to parts of Genuk, Jalan Diponegoro, Gedanganak, Mijen and nearby locations. The outage also affects PT TUS Ungaran, a medium‑voltage customer. PLN highlighted safety measures such as avoiding construction near lines, refraining from kite flying, and coordinating any tree‑cutting activities.

Earlier in the same week, PLN ensured reliable electricity supply for the Festival Bunga Bandungan held from 3 to 5 July 2026 in Bandungan, Semarang Regency. Ten PLN personnel monitored the grid, and a 7.7 kVA standby generator was on site to address any emergencies. The festival proceeded without power disruptions, supporting the attendance of thousands of visitors and the presence of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. PLN cited the operation as part of its commitment to support regional tourism and community events through stable and safe electricity service.
