Péter Magyar addresses media rules and ministerial changes
Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar has addressed several political and administrative issues, including media access to the Parliament. Following the repeated rejection of registration requests from the news outlet Partizán, Magyar defended the need for rules to maintain parliamentary dignity and manage press presence, though he noted his own reservations regarding current regulations.
In a separate development, István Kapitány, the Minister of Economy and Energy, denied reports from HVG claiming he intended to resign. Kapitány clarified that he has not resigned and remains committed to his service. This denial follows the departure of András Tótth, the State Secretary for Energy, who resigned for personal reasons effective October 13. Tótth’s exit, as a key figure in energy policy and head of the MVM Group, has prompted speculation within the sector.
