Péter Magyar announces Tisza Party joining European People's Party

Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar announced that the Tisza Party will join the European People's Party (EPP) following the closure of Article 7 proceedings against Hungary by EU institutions. During a meeting in Budapest with EPP President Manfred Weber, discussions also addressed potential solutions regarding EU fines related to refugee management and border protection policies.

Separately, Nicu Ștefănuță, the Romanian Vice-President of the European Parliament, has called for meetings with Péter Magyar and Cultural Minister Zoltán Tarr to discuss the funding of Hungarian cultural, educational, and community programs in Transylvania. Ștefănuță noted that several cultural organizations have reported delays, uncertainties, or suspensions regarding financial support, affecting festivals, youth camps, and community events. He emphasized the need for a transparent and predictable support system for these non-political community activities.
