Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar has announced a series of major social and constitutional reforms. To address a crisis in the child protection system, the government is launching an immediate 10 billion forint crisis program. This includes funding for professional programs and the creation of 184 new or upgraded residential places. Additionally, child protection and social services workers are set to receive a 20–25 percent pay rise, implemented in two stages: the first in November and the second in January.

Magyar also guaranteed a significant increase in family allowances within the 2027 budget. These measures are being introduced despite an 8.3 percent budget deficit inherited from the previous administration, which the government claims to have reduced by 1,000 billion forints in three months. Looking toward long-term structural changes, the Prime Minister expressed the intention to adopt a new constitution and electoral law by 2030.

In the legislative sphere, the Hungarian Parliament is scheduled to elect five new constitutional judges. However, the Fidesz party is boycotting the process, labeling the election of these judges as illegitimate.
